Rating Appeals

Business rates are one of the biggest burdens for the majority of small and medium sized businesses and it is crucial that business rate assessments are reviewed on a regular basis.

The current assessments have been established for the period 2010 to 2015 and are based on rental values at at 1st April 2008.  This creates significant challenges in relation to successful appeals against rating assessments as values are all fixed prior to the downturn in the global economy which took place in the autumn of 2008.
